Assesment and completion:
Students' knowledge is assessed by means of practical exercises and seminar papers, and also via products, projects, performances, services, etc. and by examinations. Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Progress:

In order to progress from the first to the second year, students must have completed all course units prescribed by the curriculum and individual syllabuses for the first year, for a total of 60 credits. In order to progress from the second to the third year, students must have completed all course units prescribed by the curriculum and individual syllabuses for the second year, amounting to 60 credits, in other words a total of 120 credits for the first and second years.

Second-cycle master's study programmes (SQF level 8)

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

In order to complete the programme, students must complete all course units prescribed by the study programme and the syllabuses of individual subjects, for a total of 90 credits. The total number of credits required in order to complete the two-subject academic programme in English language and literature is 90. Within these 90 credits, students must complete:

1. all course units prescribed by subject syllabuses (84 credits),
2. a bachelor's examination (6 credits).
The overall programme is only completed when students have completed all course units in both chosen disciplines, as prescribed by the study programmes and syllabuses of individual subjects, for a total of 180 credits.
