The qualification holder will be able to:

-demonstrate familiarity with and understanding of cultural and social processes and perform complex analysis of them,
-apply methodological tools, i.e. implement, coordinate and organise research and use a range of research methods and techniques,
-formulate original ideas, concepts and solutions to specific problems,
-demonstrate a capacity for ethical reflection and a commitment to professional ethics in the social environment, while observing the principles of non-discrimination and multiculturalism,
-develop critical and self-critical assessment,
-apply knowledge flexibly in practice,
-show awareness of the importance of quality and ensure the quality of professional work through autonomy, (self-)criticism, (self-)reflection and (self-)evaluation in professional work,
-identify and use opportunities offered in the working and social environment (manifested in the form of entrepreneurial spirit and active citizenship),
-develop communication abilities and skills for communication with different environments,
-work as part of a team, i.e. show cooperativeness, respect the opinions of others and fulfil an agreed role within the team or group,
-develop alternative solutions in the process of strategic planning,
-launch strategies or convert strategies into projects,
-network globally in the field of social activities,
-prepare a project eligible for international funding,
-demonstrate understanding of economic aspects for the functioning of the non-profit sector,
-manage, coordinate and plan the business process in a non-profit organisation,
-think divergently, show critical judgement and creativity and overcome problems,
-manage human resources,
-regulate relations between employers and employees,
-analyse, synthesise and anticipate solutions and consequences,
-resolve complex problems involving individuals that arise in the working environment both at work and in the employment process,
-integrate different experts and teamwork in an interdisciplinary manner for the purpose of adequate evaluation of individual questions arising in practice and a collective search for adequate solutions,
-use relevant national and international legal sources and critically analyse relevant literature,

-apply and combine knowledge from different disciplines,
-demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the foundations and history of the development of the fundamental social science disciplines, i.e. sociology, political science, communication studies, economics and management, social informatics, law, social science statistics and qualitative methods,
-demonstrate understanding of theories or their scope, reflect critically on theoretical arguments, and make deductions in relation to specific problems in organisational systems and systems of interaction,
-demonstrate knowledge relating to the analysis of numerical data using complex statistical methods,
-solve specific social and work problems through the application of scientific methods and procedures,
-coherently integrate basic knowledge acquired in compulsory subjects and apply it in practice,
-develop skills and expertise in the application of knowledge in the field of the social sciences when addressing theoretical or empirical problems,
-acquire, select, evaluate and classify new information and interpret it in the context of the social sciences,
-demonstrate an interdisciplinary approach, which is manifested as an understanding of the general structure of social sciences and the links between individual disciplines and sub-disciplines,
-understand and apply methods of critical analysis and the development of theories, and apply them in solving specific social and work problems,
-demonstrate organisational and leadership skills in organisations while showing understanding of individual values and collective value systems and proficiency in dealing with questions of professional ethics,
-demonstrate organisational and leadership skills for the organisation of active and autonomous work,
-communicate with experts from various fields of economic and public life and with different interest groups,
-demonstrate understanding of relations between individuals, organisations and the social environment and the capacity to take a complex systemic view and act accordingly,
-demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the theoretical basics of analytical and advisory work (transfer of knowledge to user),
-plan and manage changes while formulating a comprehensive assessment of the situation in an organisation or social environment, taking into account various factors,
-demonstrate familiarity with and understanding of processes in the business environment of an organisation and be able to analyse, synthesise and envisage solutions to them and their consequences,
-demonstrate a capacity for ethical reflection and a commitment to professional ethics in the business environment, show respect for non-discrimination and multiculturalism in an organisation and its (international) environment,
-manage time, undertake independent preparations and planning, and check own implementation of plans,
-demonstrate understanding of individual values and value systems and deal with questions of professional ethics,
-demonstrate understanding of relations between an organisation and the social environment and the capacity to take a systemic view and act accordingly,
-demonstrate knowledge of and analyse needs in a local community and/or organisation with regard to the planning of services,
-demonstrate knowledge of the planning and implementation of research designed to evaluate services, service providers, organisations,
-structure and conceptualise information and content on the internet, in bibliographic databases, text databases and other databases related to the social sciences,
-show sensitivity towards relationships between people at work, show flexibility and the ability to work in a group, show initiative, take responsibility, and show the ability to think and form their own opinions.
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
Students may progress to the next year if by the end of the academic year they have completed all course units prescribed by the study programme for progression to the next year.
