Qualification holders are qualified to:
(general competences)

• perform highly complex analytical work independently,
• analyse social phenomena,
• advise on various trends in social events, development and management,
• synthesise knowledge in a specific field and apply it in the resolution of a specific problem,
• synthesise and contextualise analytical findings,
• independently carry out, coordinate, manage and organise research,
• use and further develop various research methods and techniques,
• demonstrate autonomy and self-initiative in research work,
• very broadly, critically and reflectively understand a selected environment, the structures and functioning of (legal) norms and institutions, and the dynamics of development,
• plan, evaluate and look to the future,
• anticipate the development of events,
• differentiate between the essential and non-essential and search for more long-term solutions to fundamental problems,
• appropriately communicate research achievements,
• express themselves in writing, make a public presentation and argue a point of view,

(subject-specific competences)

• develop the knowledge and skills necessary for a suitably theoretically and methodologically based analysis of public policy phenomena, the analysis and evaluation of existing policies and the formulation of public policy recommendations,
• mastery of the methodological knowledge and skills necessary for high-quality internationally comparable research (this is very important in the analysis of foreign experiences and examples of good practice in the field of individual public policies in different social and political contexts, and at the same time develops the necessary critical attitudes towards learning from others – lesson-drawing),
• demonstrate critical awareness of ethical dilemmas in public policy research and sensitivity towards current reconceptualisation of ethical dilemmas and responses to them in the process of formulating deliberative policy analysis in globalised circumstances,
• communicate with public policy stakeholders both in the research process and in reporting research results to different sections of the public (academic public, non-academic users of research results, general public, mass media).
