Candidate:

• lists important legislation, standards and documentation dealing with the field of municipal wastewater discharge and treatment;
• explains the importance of wastewater discharge and treatment in various areas of Slovenia;
• describes and explains the importance and different wastewater treatment processes (mechanical stage, aerobic biological stage, anaerobic stage, physico-chemical processes, sludge treatment);
• prepares wastewater in the laboratory, which is treated in the laboratory by various treatment procedures (mechanical treatment, aerobic biological treatment, anaerobic biological wastewater treatment, physical dry cleaning and mechanical sludge compaction);
• on an individual device that is part of a treatment plant, explain what the device is intended for and describe the method of cleaning, show and explain key hardware and electrical equipment and explain the method of operation and maintenance of this equipment. Describes the improper operation of the equipment and its impact on wastewater treatment;
• performs mechanical compaction of sludge on an industrial plant and demonstrates the elimination of the most typical faults / failures;
• inspects the operation of the equipment (pumps, rakes, transport auger), performs maintenance, indicates possible faults and the fault rectification procedure;
• explain the meaning and methods of sampling of wastewater and sludge, explain which measurements and analyzes are important, explain the method of performing measurements and analyzes, state the expected values ​​of measured or analyzed parameters for wastewater and sludge;
• performs sampling of wastewater at treatment plants and performs measurements of temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, and analyzes of chemical oxygen demand (COD), ammonium nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen with cuvette tests. It compares the measured results with the expected value. Indicate the measures in case the measured values ​​are not within the expected values;
• inspects the operation of the on-line meter on the treatment plant (eg pH, oxygen probe), performs maintenance and compares the measurement result of the on-line meter with a portable probe;
• recognizes the septic tank from MKČN in the field, knows how to determine the place and amount of sludge pumping, knows how to take a sample of effluent from MKČN, review the documentation on MKČN and write down their observations in the form;
• in the role play, use the appropriate method of communication (with colleagues, superiors or clients) to transfer key information
•  lists measures to ensure safety and health at work and is equipped to work safely with chemicals and work on devices;
• indicates the raw materials (water, energy, chemicals….) Used in wastewater treatment, their quantitative share of consumption and defines where the consumption of individual raw materials can be reduced;
• lists key documentation (instructions, rules of procedure…) and makes entries in the operating log and equipment log.
