  • A bachelor's degree in interlingual mediation in a stream that is relevant to the desired stream of the master's programme (the languages selected in the master's programme must correspond to the languages selected in the undergraduate programme); or
  • an academic bachelor's degree in any field, either from undergraduate programmes designed in accordance with Bologna guidelines or from those in place before the higher education reform; candidates must sit an examination to test their linguistic competences in Slovene and two foreign languages (depending on the desired stream); depending on the competences acquired in the undergraduate programme and the results of the examination, up to 60 credits may be recognised or added.

Assesment and completion:
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

In order to progress to the second year, students must have completed all course units laid down by the curriculum and individual syllabuses for the first year, for a total of 60 credits.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

In order to complete the programme, students must complete 120 credits and all course units prescribed by the curriculum and individual syllabuses, write a master's thesis and defend it in a seminar and pass a master's examination. Within the context of the master's seminar, students must also complete a translation from two foreign languages into Slovene and from Slovene into two foreign languages.
