The qualification holder will be able to:
General competences:
- deepening of theoretical knowledge for developing, maintaining and restoring movement and functional abilities of healthy people and people with limited, affected or impaired movement and / or functional ability due to illness or injury, at all ages;
- ability to use in-depth theoretical knowledge in the development, maintenance and restoration of movement and functional abilities of healthy people, at all ages, in order to maintain and enhance health and prevent disease and injury;
- development of critical and self-critical judgment for the planning, implementation and evaluation of the physiotherapy process;
- the ability to combine scientific evidence with the opinions of clinical experts and thus translate evidence-based physiotherapy doctrine into decisions in practice;
- the ability to critically evaluate the professional field of physiotherapy and, based on research findings, to improve existing practice;
- autonomy in professional work and decision-making;
- ability to analyze professional problems and synthesize appropriate solutions;
- mastering research methods, procedures and processes for scientific research work in their field and developing critical and self-critical judgment in the interpretation of research results;
- cooperation, group work in the domestic and international environment in the planning, management and implementation of interdisciplinary projects;
- ability to communicate orally and in writing with colleagues and experts from other disciplines;
- the ability of independent lifelong learning in their professional field, responsibility for their own learning and awareness of the importance of lifelong learning;
- ethical reflection and commitment to professional ethics in physiotherapy, respect for the diversity of cultures and customs.
Subject-specific competences:
- use of in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge for independent implementation of the physiotherapy process - assessment and documentation of the patient's functional state and abilities, highlighting problems and goals, planning, selection, dosing and evaluation of appropriate physiotherapy procedures;
- use of evidence-based physiotherapy doctrine theory, critical analysis and use in solving specific professional issues;
- connection of basic knowledge from the theoretical foundations of the physiotherapeutic profession with knowledge of other sciences (physiology, pathology, individual clinical fields of medicine, ergonomics, physics, sociology and psychology);
- knowledge, understanding and consideration of indications and contraindications, as well as possible dangers and harmful effects of physiotherapeutic methods and procedures in targeted professional problems;
- ability to self-critically and critically assess, critically analyze and evaluate physiotherapeutic procedures and their work and monitor them;
- ability to search for new information in the literature in the field of physiotherapy and other sciences - medical, organizational sciences, informatics and social sciences, and to place and interpret them in the context of physiotherapy;
- ability to report new findings at popular, professional, scientific meetings and publications and the media;
- knowledge and use of modern tools, skills and abilities, especially information and communication technologies in professional and scientific work.
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
Študenti morajo za vpis v 2. letnik doseči najmanj 50 ECTS. Komisija za študijske zadeve lahko študentu izjemoma odobri napredovanje v 2. letnik, če je v prvem letniku dosegel najmanj 40 ECTS.
Second-cycle master's study programmes (SQF level 8)
To complete the studies, the student must complete all obligations in all subjects enrolled and prepare and defend a master's thesis. The student must collect 120 ECTS.
