In order to progress to the second year, students must have completed course units totalling at least 45 credits; in order to progress to the third year they must have completed all taught course units in the first and second years (50 credits).
In order to complete the programme, students must complete all course units prescribed by the programme and successfully defend a doctoral dissertation before a committee. Doctoral candidates must publish at least one research paper in a journal that is included in international bibliographic databases. In terms of content, the article must contribute to the development of the field of translation studies (to be assessed by the mentor). The doctoral candidate must be the lead author of the article. The research paper must be published or accepted for publication before the defence of the doctoral dissertation.
