Learning outcomes:
The qualification holder is be able to:

- resolve specific work problems through the application of scientific methods and procedures,
- place new information and interpretations in the context of research,
- demonstrate understanding of the methods of critical analysis and the development of theories and apply them to resolve specific work problems,
- use information and communication technology and systems in a specific research field,
- demonstrate autonomy in professional work and research,
- identify scientifically interesting topics,
- adopt a critical attitude and show responsibility in matters relating to their profession,
- engage in scholarly activity, write and present own scholarly work,
- search for new sources of knowledge in the relevant professional and academic field,
- demonstrate willingness for constant study (lifelong learning),

- demonstrate knowledge of the most recent trends in linguistics, above all in the field of syntax, phonology and semantics,
- integrate linguistics proper with related fields such as neurology and psychology, including the use of experimental methods,
- carry out independent research.
Assesment and completion:
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
Progress:
In order to progress to the second year, students must have completed 50 credits; in order to enrol in the third year, students must have completed all first-year course units (60 credits) and 50 second-year credits.
In order to enrol in the third year, in addition to completing the above credits, students must also prepare the topic of their doctoral dissertation, which must be approved the academic board of the doctoral programme.
Conditions for obtaining a public document:
In order to complete the programme, students must complete 180 credits and write and successfully defend a doctoral dissertation.
