  • a completed academic higher education programme adopted before 11 June 2004; or
  • a completed study programme leading to professions regulated by EU directives, or another integrated master’s programme consisting of 300 ECTS credits; or
  • a completed study programme that leads to a specialised qualification and a previously completed professional higher education programme adopted before 11 June 2004, if prior to enrolment the candidate completes course units totalling 34 ECTS credits. Prior to enrolment in the study programme, such candidates must pass differential examinations in subjects from the second-cycle General Elementary Teaching programme.

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10). 
In order to progress from the first year to second year, students must complete 50 ECTS credits from the current year. The passing of examinations from the following subjects is mandatory: Research of the Didactics of Education and Scientific Research in Education. (30 ECTS credits). In order to progress from the second year to third year, students must complete 50 ECTS credits from the current year. The passing of examinations from the following subjects is mandatory: Individual Research Work I and Individual Research Work II. Students must also meet all first-year requirements to progress to the third year.

Students complete their studies when they have successfully met all prescribed requirements of a study programme, written and successfully defended their doctoral dissertation, and completed a total of at least 180 ECTS credits.
