The qualification holder will be able to:

Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, the candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
In order to enrol in the second year the student must have completed all study requirements in the following first-year subjects: Anatomy with histology, Biophysics, Chemistry, Cell biology, Biochemistry, Medical terminology, the PBL module Anatomy and Basics of preclinical subjects I, and the PBL module Anatomy and Basics of preclinical subjects II. In order to enrol in the third year the student must have completed all study requirements in the following second-year subjects: Physiology, Biostatistics, Microbiology I, Medicine and information technology, the PBL module Foundations of physiology/pathophysiology I, the PBL module Foundations of physiology/pathophysiology II; and the following first-year subjects: First aid and Molecular biology. In order to enrol in the fourth year the student must have completed all study requirements in the following third-year subjects: Internal medicine with propedeutics, Surgery, the PBL module Internal medicine/surgery I, the PBL module Internal medicine/surgery II, elective subject 1; and the following second-year requirements: Pharmacology with toxicology, Pathology I, Basics of epidemiology (for intakes from 2006/07 this subject is renamed Public health 1), Sociology of medicine, English. In order to enrol in the fifth year the student must have completed all study requirements in the following third-year subjects: Radiology, Anaesthesiology, Psychology; and from the fourth year, study requirements in the subjects Paediatrics and Pathology II and the PBL module Family medicine. In order to enrol in the sixth year the student must have completed all study requirements up to the sixth year with the exception of: Medicine in emergency conditions, Geriatrics, History of medicine, Public health 2.
Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)
Students complete their studies when they have passed all examinations and completed practical work (family medicine, hospital).
