The qualification holder will be able to:
General competences:
- knowledge and application of appropriate methods of research and development of own practice;
- ability to take responsibility for one's own professional development and learning through evaluation and reflection of one's own work (experiential learning, intervision, supervision);
- leadership and organizational skills;
- establishing partnerships with users and other groups;
- ability to research and transfer knowledge into practice;
- developing new knowledge and understanding of the field;
- acting in accordance with ethical norms and the professional code;
- ability to participate in an interdisciplinary team and communicate with all professionals involved in the work process;
- reflecting and evaluating existing work practice and identifying untapped opportunities to raise its quality;
- developing higher cognitive skills related to the creation of new knowledge.
Subject-specific competences:
- in-depth knowledge of the theoretical foundations of the field of social pedagogy and their application in practice;
- in-depth understanding of the processes of stigmatization, marginalization, social exclusion and their prevention;
- in-depth understanding of institutional functioning, the influence of institutions on users, raising awareness of their own institutional involvement;
- in-depth understanding and mastery of various forms of socio-pedagogical work (preventive, educational, counseling, compensatory, social integrative, etc.);
- autonomous management, monitoring and evaluation of specific socio-pedagogical projects (e.g. projects of voluntary or preventive work, advocacy, self-help groups, etc.);
- more demanding analytical and research work in the field of social pedagogy for the needs of the development of practice and the appropriate ability to independently develop social marketing activities (implementation and promotion of social pedagogical principles in the public);
- in-depth knowledge of basic methodological principles and elements, especially in the context of interpersonal relationships;
- in-depth understanding of migration theory, majority minority relations;
- analytical and autonomous assessment of real situations in terms of social inequality, majority minority relations and power relations;
- in-depth understanding and practice of intercultural dialogue in educational and other contexts;
- planning and implementation of research projects, research of practice, comparison with modern models and applications;
- an in-depth understanding of the contact and diversity between counseling models, a view of the personality through different counseling approaches, the ability to use counseling, guidance and support mediation in different contexts;
- understanding the phases in the counseling processes, the importance of forming a contact / agreement, working points, evaluation;
- in-depth use of a variety of interventions / methods and techniques in counseling processes.
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
The study programme lasts one year, so there are no conditions for progression through the programme.
Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)
To complete the study, candidates must collect all the planned credit points from all relevant parts of the programme. Credit points obtained at other higher education institutions at home and abroad (mobility) or credit points obtained on the basis of recognized knowledge and skills may also be taken into account, if they were obtained in accordance with the law, UL statute and PeF rules and were confirmed at the faculty bodies.
