European Transparency Tools: Focus on Quality, Recognition and Career Guidance

On 29 May 2026, the 22nd meeting of the European Transparency Tools Group took place in Ljubljana. Participants presented current development activities in the areas of qualification recognition, quality assurance and transparency in education.

Representatives of the ENIC-NARIC Centre highlighted directions towards faster and more digital recognition of education, including digital diplomas, automatic recognition of qualifications and the use of artificial intelligence. The need to increase the reliability of systems, combat diploma fraud and support lifelong learning was also emphasised.

In the area of quality, the national reference point for EQAVET presented the results of international cooperation, including the revision of the European Peer Review Manual, which emphasises linking quality with sustainability, digitalisation and data-driven management.

The National Coordination Point for the Slovenian Qualifications Framework (SQF) and the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) presented activities related to the introduction of micro-credentials, the promotion of the Slovenian Qualifications Framework and participation in the preparation of the new EQF work plan.

The activities of the Euroguidance network also formed an important part of the meeting. At national level, these include the development of career guidance tools (such as the Kam in kako and JUMP cards), the preparation of professional publications, and the provision of information on labour market trends and developments in lifelong career guidance.

At European level, the Euroguidance network promotes the mobility and professional development of career guidance practitioners through Academia study visits, study visits and seminars, as well as cooperation between countries and the exchange of good practices through joint meetings, working groups and online resources.

The meeting once again confirmed the importance of European cooperation in developing transparent, high-quality and internationally comparable education systems, as well as in strengthening support for individuals’ career development.
