Entry conditions:
Under the conditions for enrollment as set out in points b) and c), the differential subjects / examinations are determined individually according to the diversity of the professional field and according to the candidate's professional and work experience. The conditions for enrollment are also met by candidates who have completed equivalent education, as stated in points a) to c) abroad, passed the test of special aptitude for the second-cycle master's degree at ALUO UL. They enroll under the same conditions as apply to candidates who have completed their education in Slovenia |

The qualification holder will be able to:
General competences:
- undertake independent creative and research-based activities in the field of painting and fine arts in general,
- develop artistic awareness and sensitivity,
- self-educate in own specialist field,
- resolve problems through the use of new sources of information and the application of artistic research methods,
- position own activities and creative work in the artistic and social/historical environment,
- generate ideas for the selection of the best technological solutions and the realisation of ideas,
- think conceptually,undertake self-reflection and analysis,
- formulate and present own ideas,
- demonstrate understanding of the operational mechanisms and development of art institutions and practical skill in communicating with them,
- demonstrate communication skills in the local and international environment,
- demonstrate highly developed professional, ethical, social and environmental responsibility.

Painting
- ability to combine knowledge and experience in the field of fine arts, theoretical sciences and other artistic fields and their use in concrete painting projects and works,
- in-depth ability to use painting skills and their development using knowledge from the fields of artistic creativity,
- ability to orient oneself in painting processes, their causes, development and interrelationships,
- ability to solve concrete painting tasks using conceptual methods and procedures,
- ability to independently learn and research theoretical issues in connection with artwork,
- the ability to place the influence of new technologies and findings in this field in the context of painting and fine arts in general,
- ability to present their works in group and solo exhibitions and exhibitions,
- ability to critically dialogue and participate in various types of mentoring guided visits and lectures at events and exhibitions,
- ability to communicate, perform and present one's own work in the domestic and international space.
Graphics
- ability to combine knowledge and experience in the field of fine arts, theoretical sciences and other artistic fields and their use in concrete graphic projects and works,

- in-depth ability to use various genres and technologies in the field of video and new media and to develop them using knowledge from the fields of artistic creativity,
- ability to orient oneself in new media processes, their causes, development and mutual relations,
- ability to solve concrete new media tasks using specific conceptual methods and procedures,
- ability to independently learn and research theoretical issues in connection with artwork,
- the ability to place the influence of new technologies and findings in this field in the context of new media and fine arts in general,
- ability to present their works in group and solo exhibitions and exhibitions,
- ability to critically dialogue and participate in various types of mentoring guided visits and lectures at events and exhibitions,
- ability to communicate, perform and present one's own work in the domestic and international space.
Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
In order to progress to the second year, students must have completed all course units prescribed by the curriculum and individual syllabuses for the first year, for a total of 56 credits.

Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)
To complete the second-cycle study, the candidate must complete all the obligations set out in the study programme and curricula of the subjects prescribed in the chosen field, in the total amount of 120 ECTS. The student must prepare and defend a master's thesis (30 ECTS).
The study ends with a successful public defense of a positively assessed master's thesis before at least a three-member commission, in which the mentor is one of the members.
