The programme can be attended by anyone who has completed the programme of secondary vocational education and acquired one of the following titles:

  • car mechatronic, car mechanic, electrician, electrician/energetic engineer, electrician/electronic engineer, graphic artist, graphic operator, installer of machine installations, construction mechanic, metal construction maker, mechanic of agricultural and working machinery, agricultural mechanic, industrial mechanic, metal shaper-toolmaker, metal shaper, toolmaker, computer operator, mechanical engineer of construction equipment or
  • has  completed another vocational education programme and one of the following national vocational qualifications: lithography printer, gravure printer or
  • has obtained equivalent education in lie with previous regulations.

Learning outcomes:

The holder of the certificate is qualified to:

  • use measuring devices and perform control procedures in printing and graphic processing;
  • employ management and quality assurance standards;
  • prepare and use graphic materials properly;
  • carry out works in printing and graphic processing;
  • print in different printing technologies;
  • cooperate in a group, communicate in writing and orally with co-workers and experts by using basic technical terminology;
  • use contemporary ICT, work with resources, data and materials;

Optional:

Lithography

  • make print runs by employing analogue and digital (CTP) technology, perform standard setting and print on multicolour offset printing machines, carry out additional tasks on offset printing machines;

Book binding products

  • perform technology preparations and make books, brochures and other binding products, be familiar with the functioning of hard cover lines, paperback lines, magazine lines;

Cardboard products

  • construct packaging made of cardboard, corrugated board and paperboard, be acquainted with technology procedures of making and using  stamping out tools and anti-tools, be familiar with technology procedures of making the packaging made of cardboard and corrugated board.

In addition, the holder of the certificate also upgraded his/her key professional skills and competences with key general knowledge and skills in line with national standards.

Assesment and completion:

Students' vocational abilities and skills and the fulfilment of conditions to obtain credits in accordance with the relevant education programme are established through verification and assessment. Assessment of students also takes into account non-formally acquired knowledge, which must be adequately demonstrated. Students are assessed using grades from 5 (excellent) to 1 (inadequate).

Progress:

Students may progress to the next year if at the end of the academic year they achieve a passing grade in all general education subjects and relevant vocational modules set out in the school's operational curriculum, and have completed all extracurricular activities and practical on-the-job training, or progress on the basis of a programme faculty decision.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

Students must successfully (i.e. with passing grades) complete all general education subjects, compulsory vocational modules, elective vocational modules and the open part of the curriculum. They must also complete extracurricular activities and work placement requirements and pass the vocational matura examination. The vocational matura comprises a compulsory section (written and oral examinations in Slovene and printing and graphic processing) and an elective section (written and oral examination in a foreign language or mathematics and a product/service with oral presentation).
