Learning outcomes:

Certificate holders will be able to:

  • use information technology to formulate, prepare and archive basic documents and documentation according to prescribed instructions;
  • calculate parameters and prepare, compile and perform measurements on basic electrical assemblies;
  • connect users and carry out protection, measurements and basic maintenance on electrical devices, communications installations and equipment;
  • implement, connect and set parameters and correct programs in control relay modules;

Elective:

  • Functioning of electrical energy systems and connections of electric motors
  • connect and maintain elements of low-voltage electrical network;
  • provide advice on the introduction of measures for the efficient use of energy and the use of renewable energy;
  • connect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electric motor drives;
  • Electronic assemblies and the capture and processing of process variables;
  • build and assemble less complex electronic assemblies using supplied documentation;
  • maintain electronic assemblies;
  • select, install, assemble and wire sensors and measurement transducers and carry out adaptations;

Certificate holders build on their key vocational knowledge and abilities with key general knowledge in line with national standards.

Assesment and completion:

Students' vocational abilities and skills and the fulfilment of conditions to obtain credits in accordance with the relevant education programme are established through verification and assessment. Assessment of students also takes into account non-formally acquired knowledge, which must be adequately demonstrated. Students are assessed using scores from 5 (excellent) to 1 (inadequate).

Progress:

Students may progress to a higher year if at the end of the academic year they achieve a positive score in all general education subjects and technical modules for the year as set out in the school’s operational curriculum, and have completed all extracurricular activities and practical on-the-job training, or progress on the basis of a programme faculty decision. For students with individual learning agreements, passing an intermediate test is a condition for progression from the second year to the third year.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

In order to complete the programme and obtain the qualification, students must obtain passing grades in: general education subjects, compulsory technical modules, elective technical modules and the open part of the curriculum. They must also complete extracurricular activities and work placement requirements and pass a school-leaving examination.
The school-leaving examination comprises a written and oral examination in Slovene, a service and an oral presentation.
