In the first year of the master's study programme of the second level of Economics and Finance can enroll  those who have graduated in the field of management, economics and business sciences and law  from:

  • a first level study programme or
  • an undergraduate study programme (before ZViS 2004).

A graduate of other professional fields can also enroll in the study programme, but before enrolling she/he must complete the study obligations of the subjects Introduction to Economics, Fundamentals of Accounting and Fundamentals of Business Finance.

The qualification holder will be able to:

General competences:

  • the ability to understand in particular the economic, financial and institutional environment of the organization, and consequently the ability to analyze this environment,
  • ability to independently apply knowledge of economic and financial theory and analysis in practice,
  • ability to analyze the consequences of changes in the organization for its economic environment and the consequences of changes in the economic environment for the organization,
  • ability to analyze the consequences of structural, regional and international actions on the organization as well as on its wider environment,
  • mastering more complex research methods for the purpose of studying the consequences of economic phenomena,
  • the ability to understand the broader, ethical and moral framework of the economic environment and successfully provide answers to challenges or. issues demanded through cooperation and teamwork, which remains within the framework of economic and business ethics,
  • the ability to design and critically address bold and innovative ideas in the field of business and (co) operation of the organization in the economic environment, both domestic and international,
  • taking responsibility for one's own work or the work of groups in which students will participate or lead.

Subject-specific competences:

  • understanding the economic, financial and institutional environment of the organization,
  • ability to solve the most demanding professional problems using the methods of economic analysis,
  • ability to independently design and implement research projects for the needs of managing the organization,
  • ability to substantively understand changes in current economic trends and anticipate their consequences,
  • ability to understand the content of changes in the economic and financial environment and instruments,
  • ability to place current economic and financial problems in a narrower content set,
  • ability to combine the acquired knowledge of economic analysis with other business sciences,
  • ability to use knowledge from the field of development of economic analysis for its critical treatment and development and application of (more) appropriate approaches to the global economic environment,
  • ability to use methodological and technical solutions in economic analysis.

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Progress:
  • A full-time student can progress to the second year if he / she collects 45 ECTS of the current year.
  • A full-time student can repeat the first year or the second year once if he / she collects 30 ECTS of the current year.
  • A part-time student can progress to the ssecond year if he / she collects 30 ECTS of the current year. A part-time student can repeat the first or second year once if he / she collects 20 ECTS of the current year.

Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

The student completes the study when he / she collects all 120 ECTS provided by the study programme.

If a student is enrolled according to the criteria for transfers to UP FM in the second year, he / she must complete at least 60 ECTS in order to complete his / her studies at UP FM. He can transfer other credit points from other educational institutions, obtain them through mobility at home or abroad, or apply for recognition of knowledge and skills acquired before enrollment.
The student can replace the master's thesis with research work, which is usually demonstrated by publications during the study in this study programme. The decision on the recognition of 18 ECTS is made by the competent UP FM commission.
