The qualification holder will be able to:
General competences:
- ability to analyze, synthesize and predict solutions and consequences of phenomena in the field of civil and commercial law,
- mastering research methods, procedures and processes in the field of social sciences and developing critical and self-critical judgment in the field of social sciences,
- ability to use knowledge in legal fields,
- autonomy in professional work and business decision making
- development of communication skills with emphasis on communication in the international environment,
- ethical reflection and commitment to professional ethics in the business environment,
- collegiality towards co-workers and loyalty to employers and co-operation, group work and tolerant acceptance and consideration of constructive criticism and comments.
Subject-specific competences:
- knowledge and ability to identify the development and foundations of legal disciplines,
- ability to solve concrete professional problems using scientific methods and procedures,
- ability to coherently manage complex knowledge in the legal field,
- the ability to place innovations in the profession in accordance with its basic pradigms,
- ability to use analytical methods and on this basis legal strategies with constant use of professional and morally ethical critical assessment of solutions,
- understanding and application of critical analysis and development of theories and their use in solving concrete professional problems,
- knowledge of the field and the ability to use modern information and communication technology and information systems.
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
A student who has completed all the obligations determined by the study programme for progression to a higher year by the end of the academic year or has achieved at least 40 credit points in the successfully passed examinations in the subjects of the year in which he is enrolled and passed all assigned differential examinations, may progress from the lower to the higher year.
Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)
To obtain the professional title of Master of Law or Master of Civil and Commercial Law, the candidate must complete the following study obligations:
- Complete the study obligations of seventeen subjects (or the equivalent of 90 ECTS).
- Perform scientific research work (or equivalent to 10 ECTS)
- Prepare and successfully defend a master's thesis in accordance with the provisions of the rules of the faculty.
