The qualification holder will be able to:

- demonstrate cognitive competences, that are the basis for understanding, logical reasoning and predicting;

(subject-specific competences)
- understand the functioning of various social systems in a concrete global social situation, analyse, synthesize and anticipate solutions and consequences of phenomena in the field of safety and protection of society;
- implement action research and applicative research in the field of safety and protection in a local, regional as well as international context;
- demonstrate knowledge and understanding of tourism, humanities, social and business sciences in a historical as well as a specific social situation;
- apply theoretical knowledge in the field of safety and protection of society in a specific environment, connect the knowledge from different fields and use it in domestic and international business environments;
- manage the process of communication using modern technology and technique among various factors in a situation of interdependence to ensure high-quality services of safety and protection in local as well as international environments;
- demonstrate understanding of the basic structure and interpretations of the fundamental disciplines of safety and protection and the links between its sub-disciplines.
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
Full-time students may progress in the second year if they have accumulated at least 37 credits in the first year and have paid the tuition fee in full.
Part-time students progress in the second year if they have accumulated at least 20 credits in the first year and have paid the tuition fee in full.
Students may enrol in the third year if they have accumulated at least 72 credits by passed exams and have paid the tuition fee in full. Students must complete the study practice before they apply for the thesis defence.
In case students do not meet the conditions for progression in a higher year they can, in line with the Rules of Procedure on the work of the Commission for undergraduate study affairs and the Commission for master’s study affairs, submit an application to the Commission for study affairs together with appropriate proofs of justified grounds for progression to a higher year.
Second-cycle master's study programmes (SQF level 8
In order to successfully complete the first-cycle undergraduate study programme Security Management students must fulfil all the prescribed requirements (exams), the practical part of the study and successfully publicly defend a thesis, or alternatively pass two graduate exams related to their selected module. In this case students accumulate 180 credits.
