Fulfilment of one of the following conditions:

  • The candidate has obtained secondary vocational education (any specialisation) and has at least three years' experience in the field in which he/she wishes to sit the master craftsman's examination.
  • The candidate has obtained secondary technical education (any specialisation) and has at least two years' experience in the field in which he/she wishes to sit the master craftsman's examination.
  • The candidate has obtained a post-secondary vocational or professional higher education qualification (any specialisation) and has at least one year's experience in the field in which he/she wishes to sit the master craftsman's examination.

Evaluator:

Members of examination boards for each examination unit separately; appointed by the minister responsible for education; the appointment may be renewed every 4 years.

Assesment and completion:

The candidate sits a master craftsman's examination, which consists of four units:

  • a practical unit 
  • a specialised theoretical unit
  • a business and economics unit
  • a teaching/instruction unit

Candidates who pass all four units of the examination obtain the master craftsman's qualification.
