The qualification holder will be able to:

- think holistically and critically on the basis of the analysis of a problem and its synthesis,
- use information and communication technology effectively,
- obtain databases and other resources and use them appropriately,
- use up-to-date knowledge, methodological approaches and skills to identify problems and address them at the level of an individual public sector institution or its decision-making levels,
- manage public organisations at various levels,
- demonstrate understanding of the impacts of the wider natural, social and technological environment and European integration on the changing conditions of the functioning of the public sector,
- practically apply knowledge and skills to make decisions about individual questions of the functioning of the public sector,
- take part in group work and expert discussions and adopt decisions on the basis of consensus,
- identify and ask research questions from the fields of economics and public sector management and environmental protection, and plan and implement research,

STREAM: PUBLIC SECTOR ECONOMICS
- demonstrate familiarity with failures of the market and understanding of how they can be eliminated through public sector regulation,
- demonstrate familiarity with the problems of public sector funding,
- demonstrate knowledge of liberalisation processes in various fields of the public sector in the EU and understanding of the functioning of public organisations and enterprises in such conditions,
- demonstrate knowledge of the functioning of various public sector fields of their own choice: health, education, telecommunications, energy,
- formulate proposals for economic policy measures in the fields mentioned above,
STREAM: PUBLIC SECTOR MANAGEMENT
- demonstrate familiarity with the essential features of the functioning of the public sector,
- acquire the relevant knowledge and competences to effectively manage public organisations and public enterprises,
- demonstrate understanding of the political, economic and social aspects of public management, and understanding of the particular features of individual countries in the light of international comparability,
- use all the tools of business science to effectively formulate, put into practice and assess suitable management approaches in the public sector,
- acquire relevant management expertise and problem-solving abilities in order to perform the functions of senior and middle managers in public organisations,
STREAM: ECONOMICS AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
- demonstrate good understanding and knowledge of the fundamental environment protection problems faced by managers in different geographical and cultural environments,
- demonstrate awareness of the ethical and moral norms that must be observed when pursuing the careful and sustainable use of resources,
- acquire the necessary practical knowledge, in particular in the field of environmental impacts, monitoring of impacts, oversight and legislation,
- appropriately place questions of environmental economics and legislative and other ethical and moral demands on the management agenda of an organisation, particularly a public organisation, and more broadly of an enterprise.
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
Students may progress to the next year if by the end of the academic year they have completed all course units prescribed by the study programme for progression to the next year.
