Qualification holders will be able to:
- demonstrate advanced knowledge of the common theoretical and methodological bases of educational sciences (pedagogy and adult education),
- demonstrate broad and advanced knowledge of individual disciplines of pedagogy and adult educational sciences,
- understand the phenomenology of the school, education, teaching and learning,
- demonstrate knowledge of the methodology of scientific research,
- resolve problems through the application of scientific methods,
- express substantive methodological knowledge,
- apply research procedures, strategies, methods and techniques in an original manner,
- make more global interpretations of phenomena in educational sciences (pedagogy and adult education),
- perform independent theoretical, empirical and developmental research of education in school-based and non-school-based forms,
- keep abreast of and develop theoretical and specialist literature in own field,
- develop the capacity to lead technical-innovative projects and also research projects,
- develop the capacity for autonomous specialist work and work in an (international) group,
- communicate with colleagues and experts in multidisciplinary contexts,
- develop professional ethical responsibility,
- develop the capacity for own professional development and the development of the discipline.
Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
Students must pass at least two examinations from an individual programme to progress to the second year of a master’s degree programme.
Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF, level 10)
Students must successfully meet all requirements and defend a positively assessed master’s thesis to complete their studies. Graduates of this programme must complete the programme by the 30.9.2016.
