The qualification holder will be able to:
General competences:
- They develop the ability of non-essentialist understanding and interpretation of gender discrimination and gender inequality.
- They get acquainted with the main theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of gender.
Specific competences:
- Analytical - ability for independent analysis and synthesis of analytical findings in specific areas of gender research and the use of field knowledge in solving specific problems of gender inequality.
- Use of methodological tools - ability to independently research the organization and experience of gender with the help of field-appropriate research methods and techniques
- Communicativeness - ability to publicly present sectoral issues and to argue about the necessity and positivity of changing existing gender inequalities
- Strategic orientation in the field of gender research and theorizing - the achieved theoretical and methodological knowledge will be used by students as planners of strategies for social, political and cultural change of gender relations not only in Slovenia but also in Europe and the environment (e.g. analysts and researchers in various research institutions, pedagogical workers at academic institutions, coordinators for equal opportunities in ministries, as advocates for equal opportunities in different places, e.g. large companies, in media institutions, health and social services institutions and cultural organizations).
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
The proposed programme is one-year for those students who enter it with 240 credit points and passed any additional conditions. For students who enter the programme with 180 ECTS, the condition for advancement is the completion of all study obligations from the bridging programme and thus collected 60 ECTS. Exceptionally, a student may enroll from the bridging programme in the master's programme, even if he has not fulfilled all the obligations set out in the bridging programme, when he has justified reasons for this, as defined by the UL statute. In defining the conditions for repeating the year and extending the student status, FDV will follow the applicable higher education legislation and the statute of the University. Postgraduate programme coordinators will have a special role in advising and assisting students. Their duties will be defined by the Rules on the organization and operation of the FDV.
Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)
Fulfillment of obligations prescribed by the curricula of individual subjects, a positively assessed master's thesis in the range of 15,000 to 20,000 words and its successfully completed public defense. Number of credits for the master 's thesis: 20.
