The qualification holder will be able to:
The basic (general) subject-specific competence is a distinct analytical research orientation of the programme. At the same time, we want to achieve the capacity to analyze public policies,
participatory practices and good evaluation competences.
The specific competences that are achieved with the programme are of at least two types: the programme is theoretically and methodologically oriented; we upgrade classical theoretical methodological knowledge with modern scientific and research achievements in the field of sociology. In this way, we build a competent expert who will be able to independently research and analyze social events and processes, formulate possible conceptual solutions to problems and place them in a comparative European or global systemic framework. We also see a special dimension of the programme in its socio-political applicability and focus on dealing with special (deprived) social groups in Slovenia (young people, women, migrants, the poor ...). This is the purpose of analyzes of selected public (sectoral) policies, their professional evaluation and assessment of possibilities and methods of their practical application.
Students' vocational abilities and skills and the fulfilment of conditions to obtain credits in accordance with the relevant education programme are established through verification and assessment. Assessment of students also takes into account non-formally acquired knowledge, which must be adequately demonstrated. Students are assessed using grades from 5 (excellent) to 1 (inadequate).
The proposed programme is one-year for those students who enter it with 240 credit points and passed any additional conditions. For students who enter the program with 180 ECTS, the condition for progression is the completion of all study obligations from the bridging programme and thus collected 60 ECTS. Exceptionally, a student may enroll from the bridging programme in the master's programme, even if he has not fulfilled all the obligations set out in the bridging programme, when he has justified reasons for this, as defined by the UL statute. In defining the conditions for repeating the year and extending the student status, FDV will follow the applicable higher education legislation and the statute of the University. Postgraduate programme coordinators will have a special role in advising and assisting students. Their duties will be defined by the Rules on the organization and operation of the FDV. Such assignments are also an integral part of the tasks performed by the Postgraduate Studies Department and the International Cooperation Office (advising students in finding study abroad opportunities - programmes such as Socrates-Erasmus and Erasmus Mundus).
