The graduates will be able to: 

  • understand and evaluate a business environment of an organisation (understand social, economic and political situations of a business environment, recognise the topical socio-economic problems and consequences; understand systems, processes, causes and effects; know and apply main theories and laws);
  • master business processes and systems (plan, organise, lead, monitor processes and resources for achieving objectives in profit- and non-profit-oriented organisations, use the theoretical knowledge and use the tools for problem solving, analysis of processes, innovative action):
  • master communication skills (act and communicate in an international business environment in the Slovenian and English languages, master communication and rhetorical abilities and skills, present data and information, ability to express argumentative defence of own views and have regard to the views of others);
  • master information technology (using modern tools to support decision-making in business practice, searching and presenting information)
  • master own work and interpersonal skills (work independently and in teams, be responsible for their own work or the work of groups, lead teams, be self-initiative and show collegiality towards coworkers)
  • be socially responsible and ethical (understand fundamental ethical principles and what it means to be socially responsible in actions, understand broader ethical and moral framework of economic environment, efficiently offer answers to the challenges or issues, within the frameworks of economic and business ethics, act in a critical, reflective and innovative manner in cooperation with environment,
  • autonomously work as experts (searching and using various sources, independently applying the knowledge of economic and financial theory and analysis in practice and using research methods).

Students' knowledge is assessed by means of practical exercises and seminar papers, and also via products, projects, performances, services, etc. and by examinations. Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Students may advance in the second year if they complete the obligations of the study programme of the first year, accumulating a total of 51 ECTS. Students may advance in the third year if they complete all the obilgations of the study programme of the first year and the obligations of the study programme of the second year, accumulating a total of 51 ECTS.

Second-cycle master's study programmes (SQF level 8)

Students complete the study programme when they fulfil all the requirements prescribed under the study programme.
