The qualification holder is qualified to:

- autonomously search and obtain professional knowledge and integrate new knowledge with existing knowledge,

- analyse, synthesise and anticipate solutions and the consequences of factors at tourism destinations,
- critically assess developments relating to tourism destination management,
- search for and interpret fresh information, and apply it in the context of the tourism profession,
- demonstrate understanding of and understand the foundations and history of tourism, and business organisational sciences,
- demonstrate knowledge of and understand the tourism profession and tourism destination management,
- solve specific problems related to destination management using the appropriate methods and approaches,
- plan, organise and monitor relationships and processes in the social and economic environment at the local level, with an emphasis on sustainable development,
- recognise and consider the characteristics of international market segments and the macro-environmental characteristics of tourist emitting markets.
Full-time students may progress to a higher year if they accumulate 45 credits (40 credits for part-time students) by the end of the current year, and meet all requirements for the previous year.
Second-cycle master's study programmes (SQF level 8)
Students complete their studies when they have met all prescribed requirements of a study programme (i.e. positive scores in all subjects, seminar papers, successfully completed professional practice, and a crafted and successfully presented final project).
